Organizing Symposium - 2007

The Second International Symposium on Soil Water Measurement using Capacitance, Impedance and Time Domain Transmission (TDT), organized by Paltin International Inc. in cooperation to the USDA ARS, Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, at Beltsville, Maryland, USA, October 28 November 02, 2008, has been a complete success. Participants from Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Spain, Romania and USA, have been actively participating to: oral and poster presentations; the Technical Exhibit showing the latest products of Agrilink AquaSpy and Sentek Sensor Technologies (Australia), Automata Inc., Campbell Consulting LLC, and Irrometer Co. (USA); as well as to the field visits to research applications (USDA-ARS BARC) and practical applications at Laurel Turf Course (Paltin - Maryland Jockey Club Project). Invited Keynote Speaker, Dr. Ghassem R. Asrar, Deputy Administrator USDA/Agricultural Research Service, Beltsville, Maryland, USA, presented a very interesting lecture on Natural Resources and Sustainable Agriculture in 21st Century: Challenges and Opportunities focused on water resources.
